A child born abroad applies for nationality by attribution under article 1(1)(c) of the Nationality Law. The file includes the foreign birth record and the birth record (assento) of the Portuguese parent.
A grandchild applies under paragraph (d). The grandparent must be Portuguese by origin and must not have lost that nationality. The chain includes the parent's birth record in the middle.
A great-grandchild cannot open an application with this product. Sephardic nationality and naturalization by residence are also outside it.
